Weekly Beauty Favorites | A Few Essentials

1. Shea Moisture Primer, $15.99 - I always thought a primer wasn't a primer without silicone. All my holy grail products in the past always seemed to have a dash of it in there. The smooth finish it gave was addicting, but let's face it its just not something that needs to be going on your skin. When I first put this primer on it felt like a moisturizer, and I was a bit confused, but dried to a satin finish. My skin is also super oily, and it's formulated for oily and acne prone skin so it doesn't break me out either. It's the perfect base to start my makeup process in the morning.

2. Pacifica 7 Free Nail Polish,  $9.00 - This week I wore Red Red Wine on my nails. For the fall I always rock a deep red. It's definitely my comfort shade. I'm not a gel manicure kind of girl so I need a polish that will last. This polish lasts. It's a really rich thick formula that lasts me a good 5 days before chipping.

3. Shea Moisture African Black Soap Problem Skin Face Mask, $11.99 - This week I've had a few breakouts here and there and this mask really helped me out. Sometimes when I get stressed out or don't get enough hours of sleep my skin will go a little crazy so this definitely calmed things down. There's also Tamarind Extract in here so it helps combat dark spots.

4. 100% Pure Healthy Skin Foundation, $35.00 - I had been eyeing this foundation for months then one day I decided to just get it over with! It was a good decision. This brand is free of any harmful toxins which is why for a foundation I say it's worth the money. What I love about it most is the finish. It dries to a satin/matte finish and I usually don't have to use a powder, which is crazy because I have the oiliest skin on the planet. Using a good foundation keeps me from having to spend hundreds of dollars on skin care I don't need.

5. Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive ( Travel Size), $10.00 - I made a quick dash into Ulta for a bunch of things I don't really need like we all do, and I stubbled across that cute little section with all the travel size products. I had been eyeing this peel for a long time, but I wasn't sure if it was worth the hype, so when I saw that it came in a travel size I decided to try it out. I used it while having an at home spa day, and I really noticed a subtle change in my skin complexion. I can get pretty dull looking in the fall so this gave me back my glow by getting rid of some of that dead skin. I will be purchasing the full size full strength size. I'm really excited to see what it does for me after a couple weeks.

A Little Edge

Post date:

Outfit Details
Jacket: Warehouse (Asos) | Shirt Dress: Thrifted | Boots: Zadig and Voltaire

The shirt dress is tricky for curvy girls sometimes. It's definitely more daring than a body con dress because people often just think you don't have any pants on so things can get a bit awkward. My solution to that is to rock a short black bandage skirt underneath. I always do this so that should there be a gust of wind I won't be over exposed on a crowded street in NYC.

Have an awesome week guys :)

Sweater: 525 America | Denim Shirt Underneath: AG Adriano Goldschmied | Shorts: H&M
Bag: (DIY) | Shoes: Zadig and Voltaire

This outfit makes me feel like this blogpost should begin with "Hello Upper East Siders." I was feeling very Constance after school chic. Sequins are one of those things that I always look at in stores, but never buy. This might be because when I actually lived on the Upper East Side a good friend of mine rocked them year round to almost every event so it was safe to say they were her thing.    Years have passed and now i'm starting to warm up to the sparkly trend.

So if you've picked up this months People Style Watch magazine you might have seen me in the You Got It Right Section. When I picked up my copy I was super excited! I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that supports my blog, and YouTube channel. You guys are truly the best.

Leather Jacket | Plaid Suit

Outfit Details
Jacket: Warehouse (Asos) | Suit: Girl on Film (Asos) | Tank: Barney's New York | Heels: J Crew
Shades: TopShop

When I first bought this suit everyone was like why? Why did you buy a matching plaid suit? My answer, why not? Sometimes we see things that we know we love, but out of the fear of looking stupid we don't buy them because we're afraid to take a risk. Just take the risk, if it doesn't work out you can always take it back.

Sometimes you wake up, and you just want to get out the door and go. Whenever I have those days I usually go for black. It's just easier for me. Now I do try to find a way to mix it up. Notice the brown belt haha. Sometimes people say all black is boring, but I disagree. It's all about how you wear it.

I have been giving brights some thought though. This week I went to the thrift store with my best friend and as we searched the racks I found a red leather trench coat. Now this was a bit much for me we both decided so i didn't buy it, but it got be thinking about considering getting some colorful coats for the season. Now you probably won't ever find me rocking an orange or pink knee length coat, that would be a bit much. But, what you might see me in the upcoming months will include more color I promise.
