I wear a lot of black so whenever I get a chance to add a little color in I will. A dark floral kimono is one of the many ways I like to do this. It's still dark and goes with my style, but it adds a little feminine touch. This is something I need because leave it up to me and i'd always wear black moto jeans and a white tee.

Now that New York has transitioned into Autumn I couldn't be more excited. Autumn is my favorite season. This season calls for warm chai tea lattes, comfy sweaters, and amazing coats. I always feel like I'm in my element around this time of year. It's a time where I really feel inspired to put looks together. My favorite item to wear in the fall is a big wool hat. Sometimes it's the very thing I need to take an outfit from blah to awesome.

I've also started school again so putting outfits together definitely needs to be a 1, 2, 3 process. I'd say the key to getting out the door fast would be relying on your signature fall favs. When in doubt I grab my black combat boots and black wool hat. No matter what outfit i'm wearing, these two items pull it together for me.

What's your favorite thing to wear in the fall?

I haven't rocked a tie or a bow since my high school rocker chick days. This is my grown up version of an old trend I once loved. I own a black chiffon dress that i've has for ages, and it has a black belt which is also chiffon. I tied the belt around the collar of my white top and I felt rather cool afterwards so I decided to go with it.

Sometimes the accessory you think you need is right in your closet. You just have to think outside the box sometimes.

Pastels are amongst my favorite colors. I love light pinks, blues, and mint green. Whenever I don't want to go for the classic LBD with black heels I go for a light colored body con dress.

Denim Shirt | Tapered Jeans

If you ever start getting a little tired of boyfriend jeans and want to try something new I suggest a tapered jean. Tapered jeans are just as comfy and I think they look pretty cool (especially in a light wash). I like them with a more laid back look because if you try to dress them up too much they will look like mom jeans, and we don't want that. Keeping it simple sometimes is best.

I love the oversized denim shirt. It's much like the boyfriend jean, relaxed and carefree. I headed to a graduation party in this outfit over the weekend, and I was definitely comfy throughout the night. It was a BBQ that got chilly in the night so the oversized denim top doubles as a jacket. I wasn't really sure what I was going to wear on this day. All I knew was that I was about an hour late and had to get the ball rolling. So i put on this dress threw the button up over it, and pinned my hair into a messy undo and ran for the door.

I think this is the last BBQ I will be attending for the summer. I can't believe it's almost over and school is about to begin. It feels like just yesterday I was taking my finals and anticipating my summer plans, but all good things come to an end. I don't know about you, but I for one am excited for comfy cardigans, pumpkin spiced lattes, and fall fashion.
